Project Summary
Dominion was a RPG (Role Playing Game) that offered the ability to play others over a tcp/ip connection. In keeping with my overall role at 7th Level to create micro sites that supported the launch of each new project, Dominion was to be my "web master piece".
Goals
Develop Creative brief and visual treatments which supported the offline branding goals and established a strong, independent, brand image for the product. Create the Information Architecture, Written Content, Visual Design, in addition to, all Creative Development.
Challenges
The corporate goals were to establish the de–facto site for all Dominion players. To create a virtual community that engaged players and kept them coming back. My personal goals were to push the design and technology envelope. For example, to use tcp/ip sockets to support multiple players. Also, to provide streaming media capabilities beyond that offered by any other competitors site. I focused extensive attention upon the visual design and interactivity. All this activity was focused upon creating a truly unique online experience.
Results
Within 12 hours of launch, the site had exceeded it set goals of registered players, site volume, and overall "buzz". Over a short period of time, the Dominion site became a very popular site and an overwhelming success.
