Project Summary
Broadcast.com (then AudioNet) was a platinum partner with Microsoft on the launch of Internet Explorer 4.0. IE 4 was introduced numerous new technologies to the web - including Channels. In order to support the launch of IE 4, I concepted the Streaming Media Jukebox which was designed to deliver CD quality audio and high-quality video to the customers desktop - without the use of a traditional browser.
Goals
Concept, design, build, program, test and launch a complex desktop application in under 10 days to support a significant business iniative in conjunction with a high profile client.
Challenges
Mark Cuban is a great salesperson and a fantastic entrepreneur. While it was inspiring to work with him, it could also be frustrating. For example, two days before the launch of IE 4, he changed the entire approach we had developed.
Results
Despite the last minute scope change, the Jukebox was launched and remained in service for several years. |
